Women in Climate Change
On the 8th of March 2024, the “Women in Climate Action: Celebrating
Resilience” event was held at Roomy Signature Hotel Islamabad. Organized on
International Women’s Day, the event celebrated was organized to celebrate and
discuss the significance of women leading action against the climate crisis.


Ms. Abeera Babar, representing Tameer-e-Khalaq
Foundation, officially opened the event with cordial
welcome remarks. She and Ms. Ameera Adil, Head of
Office of Sustainability at NUST, spoke about a project
being conducted with UN Women on collecting the
stories of women affected by the climate crisis.

Closing Remarks
Recognition awards were given to the panelists and members of partner organizations to celebrate their outstanding contributions to climate action and women’s empowerment. The “Voice of Pakistan” prize ceremony followed, recognizing winners of the essay competition on related themes.
Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector Research, Innovation and Commercialization (RIC), NUST, provided the closing remarks. His speech highlighted the interconnectedness of the issues and thanked the
panelists and speakers for making valuable contributions to the event.
